UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS
Located just 2 miles from Colonial Apartments is nationally top-ranked University of Illinois. UofI offers multiple degree programs with emphasis on engineering, business-accounting, and informational sciences. The University has a wide range of outstanding athletics – a big plus for our sports fans. Watch a basketball game at the 15,500 seat State Farm Center. Or tailgate a game at Memorial Stadium at support the fighting illini football team!
University of Illinois also has a University Hospital with extensive medical facilities. The medical center offers the public a clinic facility, Pharmacy, travel exams, and much more.
SHOPPING AND GROCERY
Colonial Residents can easily access the various shopping and grocery options that Champaign-Urbana has to offer. A short 5 minute drive will have you at the entrance of a Schnucks, Ruler Foods, County Market, or Grovestone Gourmet Market. If you have time to drive a bit further, your options include a Target, Meijer, or Walmart Supercenter; all less than 20 minutes away. Centennial Park is a must-visit for residents and visitors to the area. A 15 minute walk from Colonial, this beautiful recreation park features 70 acres of various activities and fields. Play a game with family or friends at one of the football, baseball, or soccer fields. A track and swimming pool are also available for those interested. Stop by featured Lindsay Tennis Center to practice your court skills or play a friendly game! Therre are 8 beautifully renovated, lighted outdoor courts for you to choose from.
Open in the summer months is the Sholem Aquatic Center, a seasonal water park with pools, slides, rapids, and food stands.
